Ben LaBolt is currently serving as the White House Communications Director and a Senior Advisor to President Biden, roles he will hold until the conclusion of the administration’s term in January 2025. A nationally recognized communications and political strategist, LaBolt has shaped winning presidential campaigns, led successful Supreme Court confirmations and built an award-winning communications and marketing agency.
For over two decades, Ben LaBolt has been a nationally recognized leader in communications and public affairs at the center of the highest profile national campaigns and issues. From February 2023 through the end of President Biden's term in office, LaBolt served as the Communications Director and Senior Advisor to President Biden, after being a leading spokesman and advisor to President Obama from the Senate through both winning presidential campaigns. He served as the spokesman for the successful confirmation of Supreme Court Justices Sotomayor and Kagan and the lead communications strategist to confirm Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson as well as a communications strategist for candidates at all levels, from Rahm Emanuel to Sherrod Brown.
In 2023, PR Week named him as the 15th most powerful person in public relations.
After co-founding an agency that was acquired by Bully Pulpit Interactive, LaBolt led the transformation of BPI to be an award-winning communications, marketing and public affairs agency that has over 300 staff today. BPI was twice named as the Global Public Affairs agency of the year and went through two successful acquisitions. LaBolt led the communications practice and advised Fortune 200 companies, high growth startups and some of the nation’s leading philanthropies and family offices. In 2022, LaBolt was awarded the Honorable Mention for Agency Person of the Year by PR Week. LaBolt served as an adjunct instructor in crisis management at NYU's School of Professional Studies. He is a graduate of Middlebury College.
