Ed Mayer

Ed Mayer is Corporate Vice President of Corporate Communications Strategy at New York Life, where his responsibilities include day-to-day leadership of the Corporate Communications team's AI tool selection and implementation efforts. He also helped launch the team's AI prompt library, best practices guide and learning path.

He also supports several active agentic AI projects, and headed the team that launched the department's first agentic tool. Since late 2024, he has led proof-of-concept testing for six GenAI and agentic tools and onboarded four of them, coordinating across the company's Technology team and its AI-review groups.

Ed also leads day-to-day crisis and strategy-related communications for New York Life and serves on its Corporate Communications Senior Leadership Team and External Communications Center of Excellence. He previously spent nearly nine years at Voya Financial as Vice President of Corporate Communications and Chief of Staff for the Brand & Corporate Communications team, and previously held communications leadership roles at AECOM, Johns Manville and Ingersoll Rand.

He holds a degree in Journalism from Rider University.
