Elizabeth Kosar

Elizabeth Kosar is the Communications Director for the Colorado Department of Revenue. She has extensive experience in public affairs and crisis communications. Before her tenure at the Department of Revenue, Kosar honed her expertise in high-stakes environments, including the Office of Governor Jared Polis and several financial services firms, where she consistently demonstrated an ability to navigate complex challenges and maintain public trust. Her career is marked by a strong track record of developing and executing effective communication strategies, particularly during intense scrutiny and public awareness. In her current position, Kosar oversees all internal and external communications for the Colorado Department of Revenue. She plays a pivotal role in shaping the department's image and voice, ensuring transparency and fostering positive relationships with the media, stakeholders and the citizens of Colorado. Her approach ensures that the department communicates proactively, accurately and empathetically, mitigating negative impacts and maintaining its reputation. Elizabeth holds a BA from Hamilton College and an MPS from George Washington University. She lives in Denver and enjoys Colorado’s year-round sunshine with her dog, Beatrice
