Fred Tan is the Global Head of Social Impact at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Deputy Director of the HPE Foundation, where he develops and executes HPE's social sustainability strategy through initiatives that leverage the company's technology, talent, and resources for measurable impact. His team serves as an internal testing ground for AI-for-Good transformation, evaluating how technology reshapes roles and workflows, piloting responsible AI tools, and building scalable programs. Most recently, his team built and deployed solutions and AI-powered tools that reduced processing time by approximately 90% across a network of global teams and partners.
Fred’s work sits at the intersection of enterprise technology, workforce change, organizational culture, and social impact. He brings a practitioner's lens to how transformation lands at the human level, across cultures, functions, and communities.
Before HPE, Fred served at Village Capital, the world's largest organization supporting impact-driven seed-stage startups, and built his career across government and strategy consulting, where he specialized in cross-sector partnership development and organizational change.
Fred holds a BA in Political Science from Brigham Young University and a Master's in International Security and Global Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris.
