Golda Lee Bruce 

Golda Lee Bruce is a communications professional, former journalist, speaker, and author. She currently serves as a Senior Communications Officer at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), specializing in internal communications. Golda also leads the team responsible for communicating the IMF’s work in Western Hemisphere countries. At the Fund, she has led several high-profile internal events and developed successful communications campaigns aimed at engaging IMF staff and external stakeholders. She is the host of the IMF’s Back to Basics video series.

Before joining the IMF, Golda was a Communications Specialist and Development Storyteller at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). As part of the IDB’s Caribbean Country Department, she pioneered several communications initiatives, including the IDB’s Client Story series and the department’s monthly staff townhall. She also planned and moderated many high-level events, including the IDB’s One Caribbean Expo (2022) and the Annual Meeting of Caribbean Governors (2019-2022).

Prior to her transition to development communications, Golda spent over a decade as a journalist and news anchor in her native Trinidad and Tobago. She was the main anchor of the CNC3 7 p.m. news and reported on all aspects of national and regional life. She is also the author of Born on an Island, a collection of short stories reflecting on her upbringing in the Caribbean.

Golda is a graduate of the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She is also an alumna of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, and the Harvard Kennedy School. Golda is a former fellow of the Penn Kemble Forum at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and a former Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. She is also a TEDX Speaker.

She believes in the power of mentorship and, through her charitable ventures, seeks to inspire the next generation of leaders. Golda is also a wife, and mother of two.
