Lorra M. Brown is on the advertising and public relations faculty at the University of North Carolina’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, where she also directs the online Master of Arts in Digital Communication. Brown develops and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in public relations and brand writing, integrated marketing communication, reputation management and corporate social responsibility. An AI-literacy and career expert, she has more than 30 years of experience in public relations, marketing, and higher education. Before joining UNC, Brown served as an associate professor, internship coordinator and graduate director at William Paterson University, where she created and led innovative academic programs. Before her work in higher education, she was an SVP at Ogilvy where she led its New York consumer marketing practice and worked with brands ranging from Johnson & Johnson and Target to Virgin Atlantic Airways, the American Red Cross and many others across consumer, sports, health and travel sectors. Prior to Ogilvy, she was a managing director at Weber Shandwick.
