Rachel Salis-Silverman is an accomplished executive communication leader with more than 20 years of experience advancing and protecting reputation in healthcare institutions. As Vice President of Reputation and Communications at Nemours Children’s Health, Salis-Silverman leads strategic enterprise communications, overseeing public relations, social media, and internal communications across one of the nation’s largest integrated pediatric health systems. She is recognized for transformational leadership through building high-performing teams and connecting business goals to innovative earned, owned, and paid media strategies.
Salis-Silverman's career is marked by pioneering omni-channel integration, launching award-winning initiatives such as the Well Beyond Medicine podcast, and orchestrating major reputation-building events, including multimillion-dollar philanthropic gifts and high-profile government partnerships. She has developed enterprise crisis communications protocols and built a sensitive issues framework, ensuring Nemours’ reputation remains resilient amid evolving challenges.
Previously, she held healthcare roles at the American Association for Cancer Research and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she elevated national media coverage, led large-scale press programs, and built influential partnerships. Her expertise spans strategic advising, thought leadership, public relations, crisis management, executive communications and community relations.
Salis-Silverman holds an M.S. in Marketing Communications from Temple University and a B.A. in Journalism from The Ohio State University. She is certified in Change Management (thanks to Ragan) and actively contributes to community leadership through board and advisory roles.
