Rebecca Fuller, PhD

Vice President, Integrated Marketing Communications - American Academy of Physicians

Rebecca Fuller Beeler is a dot connecter with a complex and shifting web of ideas, issues, people and organizations constantly in mind. It’s this ability to see connections that allows Fuller Beeler to quickly find the links between what trends family physicians are facing, what information patients need, what the media are talking about, and what partner organizations are working on. The ability to quickly analyze the situation and pivot -- tweaking the work her team’s engaged in or calling upon a family physician or external partner to respond to an emerging challenge – is what helps communications efforts at the AAFP stay focused, disciplined and effective. It’s also been a hallmark of her career.

Fuller Beeler has a wide range of experience in writing, editing, program development, public relations and executive communication. Her career has included crisis and risk communication, teaching and mentoring in the university setting and leading employee relations in a health care setting. In her current role at the American Academy of Family Physicians, she leads a team of skilled professionals who are responsible for member, media and public communications.

Fuller Beeler holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication and a master of public affairs. While completing her doctoral studies, her dissertation focused on how leaders of global and diverse organizations can make meaning of complexity for their employees.
