Samantha “Sam” Whiteside, MPH, CHES, CPT is the Chief Wellness Officer at The Motley Fool, a financial services company dedicated to helping the world invest—and work—better. Her groundbreaking work has resulted in a 90% wellness program participation rate and garnered national press attention. The Motley Fool has received numerous awards for workplace wellness under her guidance including Most Active Company in DC, Game Changer in Employee Health, Smart CEO Healthiest Company, and Greater Washington's Healthiest Employers. With over 12 years of experience in health promotion, health education, and workplace wellness, Samantha has numerous certifications including Health Education Specialist, Worksite Wellness Specialist, Exercise Physiology, Functional Aging Specialist, Personal Training, TABATA, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, Youth Exercise, and Mindful Yoga Therapy to name a few. Additionally, Samantha is a lifelong philanthropist. In between volunteer work with her local health department in Alexandria, Medical Reserve Corps of Alexandria, The Carpenter’s Shelter, Arlington Food Assistance Center, Volunteer for the Visayans in Tacloban, Philippines, All Hands & Hearts Disaster Response, Living Positive Kenya, and Friends of Guest House, she is constantly looking for ways to give back and encourages others to do the same. When she is not busy putting her Master of Public Health degree via UNC-Chapel Hill to use, she is sharing her love of cooking, kettlebell training, water sports, and all things red wine with friends and coworkers and relaxing with her rescue dogs, Etta Grace and Luna Belle. Sam will begin her Doctorate in Health Administration with a focus in Global Health Systems this Fall at Central Michigan University and will graduate in 2026.
