Senior Director, Communications - Blood Cancer United
Sandra Salviejo is Senior Director, Communications at Blood Cancer United, the largest global nonprofit focused on blood cancer patient support, research, and advocacy. In this role, she leads the organization’s internal and medical/scientific communications.
She provides strategic communications counsel to senior executives and co-leads the communications department, guiding efforts to protect and strengthen Blood Cancer United’s reputation while amplifying its mission, impact, and stories for both internal and external audiences.
Sandra brings more than 15 years of communications experience, including a decade at Blood Cancer United. Prior to joining the organization, she worked at public relations agencies specializing in healthcare, nonprofit, and consumer communications. Her past clients include the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, International Rescue Committee, Heifer International, and Susan G. Komen.
Sandra holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and psychology from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She resides in the greater New York City area with her husband and three young children.
