Bloggers praise the company for its impressive intranet, pan PRSA for its choice in keynotes and point fingers at fascist IT departments
Are you ready for this? Ninety-two percent of Motorola employees use the company’s intranet, which it cleverly dubbed Intranet 2.0. Ron Shewchuk pointed this out in his blog For Your Approval. Citing an InformationWeek article, Shewchuk reported that Motorola boasts 5,400 internal blogs, 4,500 wikis, 65,000 social bookmarks and millions of shared documents (90,000 are added daily). That information, Shewchuk continued, is available through RSS feeds, which means employees can receive whichever information they wish.
