The Department of Homeland Security has a blog. It’s called Leadership Journal and among the five contributors to the blog is Secretary Michael Chertoff. The blog is updated frequently and it provides a personal look at what this department does, although its contributors did not write about the FEMA press conference goof.

After reading several of Chertoff’s contributions to the blog, we smelled a speechwriter or ghostwriter. His blog posts had the manufactured sheen you often hear in a speech or official statement. So we called the Department of Homeland Security Public Affairs office on Tuesday and left a message asking if Chertoff has help writing his blog posts. We haven’t heard from anyone yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
