The tweet that earned one man a $37,000 MBA scholarship

It was written in the form of a haiku. What do you think?

The premise was simple: Answer a question via Twitter in 140 characters or less for the chance to win a $37,000 scholarship to the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business.

The question: “What makes you an exceptional Tippie full-time MBA candidate and future MBA hire? Creativity encouraged.”

The winning answer came in the form of a haiku:

“Globally minded (5)
Innovative and driven (7)
Tippie can sharpen (5)”

John Yates, a 33-year-old Texas-based culture and language trainer for Berlitz, won the prize, according to Business Insider.

I’d like to offer my response to this story in the form of a haiku:

Haiku can net you
Thirty-seven thousand bucks
May God help us all
