Toronto Mayor Rob Ford admits he smoked crack
After months of denials, the beleaguered mayor said—on video—that he had tried the drug, ‘probably in one of my drunken stupors.’
After prompting reporters to ask him whether he has tried the drug—not in the video that reportedly shows him smoking a crack pipe, but at all—Ford offered this statement:
“Yes, I have smoked crack cocaine. Am I an addict? No. Have I tried it? Probably in one of my drunken stupors, approximately about a year ago.”
Ford said all he can do now is apologize for his mistakes.
“I can’t change the past,” he said.
