Who says you can’t make money using Twitter?
Dell’s Twitter account for refurbished products, @DellOutlet, recently surpassed $2 million in sales.
Although $2 million is a drop in the bucket compared with, for example, the $61 billion in revenue that the whole company brought in during 2008, the announcement is nonetheless a milestone for commerce on Twitter. First, because DellOutlet was able to track some of the response to their promotional tweets, and second, because they were able to gain a following big enough and loyal enough to garner sales in the millions of dollars.
