Want productive employees? Try loosening the reins for a day

What would happen if you told your employees they could work on anything they wanted to for a day?

At NPR, doing just that back in May resulted in 25 new ideas. “”We got everybody together and it was like, Go!” Sarah Lumbard, NPR’s senior director of product strategy, told Nieman Journalism Lab. “The energy level in the room just went through the roof. And the biggest thing we heard from our team is, ‘When are we doing this again?'”
