You may have thought that cursing in the workplace is rude and offensive. Maybe you felt that swearing openly in front of co-workers might be interpreted as anti-social behavior.

If so, you would be wrong.

Now comes a study by British-based Leadership and Organization Development Journal suggesting that those four-letter words actually boost morale and may improve corporate culture.

No [expletive deleted] way!

The study, entitled, Swearing at work and permissive leadership culture: When anti-social becomes social and incivility is acceptable, found that “frequent swearing can reinforce solidarity among staff and enable them to express their feelings, such as frustration, and develop social relationships.”
