Many people like to emphasize the differences between generations. They also frequently rely on stereotypes. Millennials are entitled, and Baby Boomers are technophobes, right?
It turns out, however, that millennials, Generation Xers and Baby Boomers have a lot in common—at least when it comes to consuming content.
An infographic from Fractl and BuzzStream examines what types of content each generation prefers, when they consume it, on which devices they view it, how they share it and more.
Here are some of the ways the generations are similar:
- Baby Boomers, Generation Xers and millennials like the same types of content. Their top three favorites are blog articles, images and comments.
- Between 8 p.m. and midnight is when most members of all three generations consume content.
- All three generations say 300 words is the optimal article length.
- Each generation uses Facebook more often than any other social network to share content.
