Starting a blog right can make all the difference in its long-term success
Thousands of blogs launch every day. With all the tools available—and the ease with which you can access and manipulate them—it’s easier than ever to get a blog up-and-running.
But, we also know that a sizable percentage of blogs fail before their first birthday.
Starting a blog isn’t all that tough. But, starting a blog right can make all the difference if you’re looking for long-term success.
There are a number of factors to consider. Below, are 13 steps to keep in mind as you plan your blog launch (personally, or professionally):
1. Develop clear, measurable, reasonable and timely goals for your blog. This is an important and sometimes overlooked step. Make sure you know what you want out of your blog. Be realistic—don’t expect too much—and make sure your blog’s goals align with that of your business.
2. Create an effective blog architecture based on best practices and specific needs. Check out other blogs in your industry—and those outside your industry. What do they do well? How do they organize their blogs? Learn from others and apply those concepts to your situation.
