A recent Facebook study on how people engage with journalists offers some hints on how to better use the social medium.
On the page Facebook and Journalists, Vadim Lavrusik and Betsy Cameron provide the research they have conducted on how users are engaging with news organizations. How reporters use the site should help PR pros who want to develop relationships with them.
Ask a question. “Posts that include a question or call to action from the journalist received the highest amount of feedback,” the researchers write.
Personal analysis draws attention. “Posts that included the journalist’s analysis and personal reflections had 20 percent more referral clicks than that of an average post,” they say.
