If you spend time on social media or on a mobile device, chances are you’ve gotten an invitation to play a game.
This week’s featured job opening is perfect for communications pros who react with excitement instead of dread upon receiving yet another invitation to play “Bejeweled,” slots or “Wheel of Fortune” online.
Game Show Network Games is looking for a new vice president of public relations and corporate communications in its San Francisco office.
GSN Games is part of Game Show Network, which is the cable TV home of “Deal or No Deal,” “The Newlywed Game” and “Card Sharks.” The network also has a gaming branch that offers several mobile apps and a casino suite of online games.
More than 47 million people play GSN Games, and two of the company’s apps are in the top 10 highest-grossing iPad apps.
Candidates should have at least 12 years’ experience in PR and corporate communications; a mix of both agency and in-house work is preferred.
The position requires responsibility for GSN Games’ business relationships and strategy, so candidates should also have experience with both business-to-business and business-to-consumer campaigns, be able to handle crisis situations, know digital apps and social media platforms and be able to bring together co-workers in several of the company’s departments.
A few of the company’s leaders are Bejeweled champions, so flexing those thumbs and brushing up on your gaming skills might be a good idea as well.
