The Microsoft News Center has assembled a team of mostly former journalists with credentials from outlets like NBC News, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Denver Post and the Baltimore Sun. Like many media sites, the News Center began as a way to promote products and services. Today, the site focuses on people, with the goal of making technology personal. In addition to its foundational content, the News Center is also home to multiple blogs and media relations materials that you’ll find on other high-quality media sites. Another part of the News Center is the Story Labs, which houses premier Microsoft content, including longform feature stories, mini-documentaries, podcasts, animated video series, cartoon collections, virtual reality experiences—and even old-fashioned printed books.
