The corporate world is rife with bad advice and wonky wisdom.
Here are some bogus lines you’ll probably encounter at least once and can promptly ignore:
“More connectivity is better.” We’ve been sold this bill of goods from our tech broverlords for over a decade now, and what has it wrought? There’s a reason why Vanuatu is consistently rated one of the happiest countries on Earth—and it’s not’s due to smart device connectivity or any sort of “biohacking digital disruption.”
Use platforms that make sense for your business and that you have the capacity to cover, and ignore the rest.
“If you’re not moving forward, you’re falling back.” Nonsense. Hold your ground, and build a glowing reputation for dependability. Integrity whips “innovation” every time.
“Tear down those silos between departments.” Before you go smashing through Accounting’s wall like the Kool-Aid Man, take a breath. Try “building up” rather than “tearing down.” Be a peaceable bridge-builder between departments.
