True to form, communicators have been vocal in assessing the methods that Amazon and Zappos employed in announcing last week’s deal that brought them together. Equally true to form, communicators vary significantly in those assessments.

Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh sent a detailed e-mail to employees regarding the $800 million deal, outlining key points and proactively addressing anticipated questions. He subsequently posted the contents of the e-mail on the company’s blog.

Meanwhile, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos recorded a video message regarding the deal and posted it on YouTube.
