1. Takeaways from the Chauvin verdict responses.

The tweets started flying almost immediately after the man who killed George Floyd was convicted on all charges against him. Company leaders, for the most part, played it safe by serving up quotes about solidarity, justice and accountability. However, as we wrote on PR Daily,

“The statements that were more successful took the long view on the work ahead to deconstruct systemic oppression and racism.”

Those who treated the verdict as some sort of game-winning touchdown spike were met with swift digital condemnation. None more so than the Las Vegas Raiders, which received widespread blowback for tweeting out what many felt was a glib, insensitive, wildly inappropriate response to the verdict:
