Get prospective employees interested and keep current employees excited with a blog

The one thing healthcare communicators are never short of: good stories to tell.

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta channeled its stories of patients overcoming odds, and of staff going above and beyond, into an employee-written blog site called “Strong Enough to Care Enough.”

The blog invites nurses, doctors and administrative staff to answer the question, “Are you strong enough to care enough to work here?”

The resulting blog posts and videos are packaged on a well-designed site that features a prominent job board to attract new nurses. Click on one of six employee photos and up comes a video, comment box and share feature.

Take this compelling post from paramedic Stephanie Bennet:

“I have stayed for fourteen years [at Children’s Healthcare] because we inspire, we love, we care and we stand as shinning examples of what could be for every child that enters our doors and I am proud to be a member of a team that shows such dedication to helping children in any way that we can. When I look back over my reasons for staying, I have to ask myself, am I healing the children or are the children healing me?”
