Most LinkedIn members are part of at least one LinkedIn group, but not all groups are as helpful as they could be.
Yumi Wilson, corporate communications manager at LinkedIn, discusses the best and worst ways to build engagement in LinkedIn groups with Mark Ragan, CEO of Ragan Communications.
Her first recommendation is to ask questions of your fellow group members. “Most people will join a group because they feel an affinity—they share something in common. And each person really has something to share,” Wilson says. People love to share advice, so asking for it is a great way to get people talking.
Wilson also recommends having an attentive group manager who will ensure members keep discussions respectful and spam-free.
