Indeed’s Misty Gaither talks about kindness at work

Young workers are more likely to apply for a job posting that lists ‘kindness’ as an important value of the company.

Kindness at work

Indeed’s vice president of Global Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging (DI&B), Misty Gaither spoke at Ragan’s inaugural Workplace Wellness Conference about the practice of kindness in the workplace. Conversations around belonging in the workplace have taken center stage as many companies implement return-to-office plans and employees transition to in-person interactions over the virtual normal of the past two years.

With the topic of talent retention and the Great Resignation in the background, Gaither asserts that job seekers and employers should be reevaluating what an inclusive, kind workplace means to them and how they can be a part of positive change to support employee mental health at work.

Gaither also reveals findings from a joint survey of 1,200 young workers between 18-29 years old about exploring kindness and mental health priorities in the workplace.

Next year’s Workplace Wellness Conference is already well into the planning stages and will be held in Denver, August 14-16, 2023. As you prepare yourself for next year’s conference, look at this clip from Gaither’s full session.
