Infographic: 14 ways to get more shares on Facebook

To be successful on Facebook, it isn’t enough to have a lot of fans. You need them to interact with and share your posts, too. Here’s how.

Are your posts not getting as many shares on Facebook as you would like?

Do you think your content is great, and don’t understand why it isn’t getting more attention?

You might need to make a few small changes to your posts to turn things around.

An infographic from Mari Smith and ShortStack lists 14 ways to increase fan engagement with your posts. Apply a few of these tips, and you’ll be going viral in no time.

Here are a few tips to try:

1. Keep posts short. Posts between 100 and 150 characters (fewer than three lines of text) elicit 60 percent more likes, comments and shares than longer posts.

2. Be educational. People like to share tips and how-to guides. Give them some material they can pass on to friends.

3. Include a call-to-action. If you want fans to like or comment on something, tell them to.

4. Get creative with apps. Use contest, promotion and survey apps to deepen fans’ involvement with your brand.
