When most of us hear the word “vacation,” we think of sandy beaches, umbrella drinks, and relaxation. Computers, smartphones, and other signs of work are not part of the daydream.
Yet for many Americans, working while on vacation is a reality.
An infographic from TeamViewer and Harris Interactive reports that 61 percent of American employees say they are willing—or at least planning—to work during vacation this year, up from 52 percent in 2012.
Working on vacation not only means you’ll lose out on genuine relaxation—it also means less room in the suitcase for sunscreen and souvenirs. Sixty-nine percent of Americans say they’ll bring a work-capable device along on vacation this year, and 61 percent plan to pack up to three.
If you’ve booked a trip this summer, do you expect to work during it?
