It’s a question many communicators have pondered: How do I promote my organization on an app that erases my content after just a few seconds?
Snapchat’s unique—yet incredibly popular—platform can be difficult to navigate at first, but it’s not impossible. Plus, a surefire way to get eyeballs on your content is through the app’s paid advertising options.
An infographic from Media Kix Influencer Marketing describes nine ways to advertise on Snapchat, including ideas for partnering with social media influencers. Here are a few of the photo app’s advertising options:
- Snap Ads: These are 10-second, skippable videos that appear between Snapchat Stories. If 10 seconds isn’t long enough for you, check out Expandable Snap Ads, which enable Snapchat users to swipe up to see a longer video, install an app or visit your organization’s website.
- Lenses: You’ve seen those pictures of people with dog ears or cat whiskers superimposed over their faces, right? Well, they’re an example of Snapchat Lenses in action. Using facial-recognition and augmented-reality software, Lenses change or add elements to Snapchat users’ content. Your organization can offer one—but it will cost between $450,000 and $750,000.
- Geofilters: Geofilters are geographically determined text or graphics that overlay a Snapchat photo or video. Brand managers can buy custom filters or design their own. Prices depend on the square footage of your filter.
