For those who struggle with inbox bulge and email enmity, NetCredit’s infographic can help.

The infographic opens with stats that show the toll that email takes on us. For instance, it takes 64 seconds to refocus after getting derailed by a notification. Multiply that by 100 or so, and you’re looking at a day’s worth of distraction.

How can we take the power back? The graphic suggests deleting obsolete messages, unsubscribing from unnecessary lists, setting up labels or folders for categorization and filing the emails you choose to keep.

It’s also important to set a routine. To avoid continual scrambling, carve out two or three chunks of time per day for email. Punch it into your calendar to hold yourself accountable.
