Infographic: Research-backed strategies for writing powerful headlines

Headlines will either attract readers to your content or send them running. Here’s how to achieve the former.

Headlines are probably the first contact many people will have your brand.

That’s a lot of responsibility for just a few little words.

Your responsibility, then, is to give those words as much punch as possible.

To help you do that, Hubspot and Market Domination Media created this infographic. It explains three content marketing goals, and how to write headlines that achieve those goals.

For example, if you want to attract website visitors:

  • Include bracketed clarifications like [Infographic] or [Video]. It will increase your headline’s click-through rate by 38 percent.
  • Include the word “photo” in your headline to boost the click-through rate by 37 percent.
  • Don’t use the word “tip.” It will decrease a headline’s click-through rate by 59 percent.
