Twitter’s popularity has ebbed and flowed over the years, but it’s still a dominant social media network.
In fact, 57 percent of businesses are spending at least 50 percent more on Twitter marketing than they were two years ago, an infographic from SocialBro and HubSpot says.
What are those businesses doing to up their game?
Here are a few effective tactics to try:
- Place URLs in the middle of a tweet. The tweet will be 26 percent more likely to get retweeted.
- Only use one hashtag. Tweets with one hashtag are 69 percent more likely to be retweeted than tweets with two hashtags.
- Try Twitter Ads. Businesses that use them have 13 times more followers than businesses that don’t.
- Include images. Thirty-four percent of tweets with photos get retweeted.
