Infographic: Why people unfollow brands on social media

The biggest reason is because the content is repetitive and boring, but there are other factors at play, too.

One of my Facebook friends recently posted something like this: “Cleaning out my friends list. If I unfriend you, it’s nothing personal.”

I’ve seen other people post statuses like this, and every time I wonder how anyone can avoid taking being unfriended personally. It hurts!

Organizations don’t like it when customers unfollow them on social media, either.

BuzzStream and Fractl recently surveyed more than 900 people to find out why they unfollow brands on social media. The most common reason was because the content is repetitive and boring.
