Mark Jacob, former metro editor of the Chicago Tribune and former Sunday editor at the Chicago Sun-Times, is now a freelance writer. Among his current projects is writing for Northwestern University's Local News Initiative, an effort to develop new products and approaches to help America's newsrooms build audiences. Jacob is the co-author of six books, including a tribute to Wrigley Field, a biography of Benedict Arnold's wife and a photo book based on the Chicago Daily News glass-plate negatives from 1900–1930. Jacob was Tribune columnist Mary Schmich's editor when she won the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for commentary.
