Dealing with budget pressures is biggest challenge for 2009 after engaging employees, according to survey results

In 2009, LEAN Communications is necessary—not an option. That’s a key finding from the latest LEAN Communicator survey conducted November through December.

This time, budget pressures ranked as the second biggest challenge for 2009, compared to 25th in 2007. In percentages, 58 percent said budget pressures were one of their biggest challenges this year compared to 13 percent almost two years ago.

The numbers shouted a major shift in situation, punctuated by the write-in comments. “I’ve worked for start-ups with little or no money to spend for most of my career … now I’m at a huge company and still have no budget!” “My biggest challenge is producing quality products on a tight budget.” “How can we not be (LEAN Communicators) right now?”
