Financial Times writer Michael Skapinker seems to think bloggers and their social media brethren produce nothing but “inconsequential rubbish.” The Internet is an amazing tool, he insists; however, the din of voices out there is a scourge. Skapinker recalls the famous suggestion that given keyboards and endless time, monkeys would eventually produce the works of Shakespeare. Skapinker, agreeing with a colleague, writes: “The Internet shows it is not true.”
