Soliciting and responding to Glassdoor reviews the right way

Asking employees to tell the truth will bring in better candidates.

Customer service is high on the vast list of responsibilities that employee comms pros never expected would fall into our laps. But when you consider the maxim that ‘employees are your most important customer,’ and add to that the glut of employer review sites like Indeed, Glassdoor, Comparably and more that allow anonymous posts, a challenge emerges that requires shared responsibility beyond HR and marketing.

“It requires a tremendously tight partnership between talent acquisition and internal comms,” Debra Helwig, internal communications director at Pinion, told me. Helwig considers herself lucky that Pinion’s Director of Talent Acquisition has a communications background, and as such, an appreciation for great communications.
