PMI’s Marian Salzman reflects on her induction into Ragan’s Top Women in Communications Hall of Fame

Salzman spoke about her career, the skills she values most and the state of women in corporate leadership positions.

This past February, PMI SVP and Chief Corporate Citizenship Officer for the U.S. Mariane Salzman was inducted into the Ragan’s Top Women in Communications Hall of Fame.

The honor is reserved for women leaders whose outsized influence on the communications function has radiated outward to impact the wider enterprise — and set a shining example for other leaders across industries.

The morning before her induction, Salzman caught up with Ragan Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief Justin Joffe to share candid insights into her leadership journey, the people who lifted her up along the way, what skills she looks for in talent and mentees, and more.

“Intellect is jet fuel that’s going to get you promoted,” said Salzman. “Curiosity, passion, a commitment to the company, a commitment to your colleagues, a commitment to the team.”
